Sustainable Agriculture Lands Conservation

The Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) project is a two-year planning grant funded by the California Department of Conservation with Cap-and-Trade proceeds. The project is managed by the Local Agency Formation Commission for San Bernardino County (LAFCO) in partnership with the Inland Empire Resource Conservation District (IERCD). San Bernardino LAFCO and IERCD will build support for agricultural producers in the San Bernardino Valley region by mapping and identifying agricultural lands, assessing existing policies in the region and exploring policies that could support agricultural producers, performing a feasibility study for development of a local mitigation program, and identifying urban agriculture priority projects and opportunities. This team is committed to strengthening our community’s agricultural lands through policy and regional collaboration.
