Position Overview: The Market Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the goals of the 2020 NACD Urban Agriculture Conservation Grant in collaboration with the IERCD Programs Manager and partner, Huerta del Valle. Typical tasks include managing and operating twice monthly market days at various garden sites, organizing community workshops, and working with regional farmers to promote conservation. The Market Coordinator will work approximately 80% at Huerta del Valle developing the market program and organizing volunteer events and 20% with IERCD farmer outreach and education. The Market Coordinator reports to and serves under the supervision of the IERCD Programs Manager.


  • Working knowledge of agricultural systems and sustainable agriculture practices

  • Ability to work effectively with staff, partners, and members of the public to operate a successful market

  • Must be bilingual (Spanish)

  • Ability to work weekends (2-3 weekends a month)

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and perform physical requirements associated with market day events.

  • Be in possession of a current California Driver’s License and auto insurance, as well as reliable transportation
