Vargas Strawberry Farm

Vargas Strawberry Farm has served the Inland Empire for over 17 years.  They distribute strawberries to local community members via their on-site farm stand in Ontario. As a result of the longevity of the farm, customers rely on his farm stand for fresh strawberries, generating a large portion of the farm's revenue. In recent years, the integrity of the structure began to fail, becoming unsafe for staff and customers. Through the funding received from IERCD's Urban Ag Subaward program, Vargas Strawberry farm was able to repair the farmstand and prevent the loss of a longstanding community market.
