Join the Great Seeds Restoration Team!

Be a volunteer and Join the Great Seeds Restoration Team! The National Forest Association and the U.S. Forest Service are teaming up to conduct restoration projects on the San Bernardino National Forest. Volunteer work includes seed collection and germination, native plant propagation, noxious weed removal and out-planting on the forest.
When: The second Saturday of each month (November -March). Dates include November 12, December 10, January 14th, February 11th and March 10th.
Where: Volunteers will meet at the Urban Conservation Corps Building at 174 South E Street, San Bernardino, Ca 92401 at 9:00 a.m.
Bring: Sack lunch, water, work gloves, a hat and sunscreen

16th Annual Family Reading Festival

The 16th Annual Family Reading Festival is taking place on Saturday, March 3rd at 10 a.m. The festival will be at the Feldheym Library in San Bernardino. There will be balloons, face painting and other fun activities throughout the day. Students will be recognized for their reading achievements on stage!

City of Rancho Cucamonga Earth Day Celebration

The City of Rancho Cucamonga is hosting an Earth Day Celebration at the Paul Biane Library at Victoria Gardens on April 14th for kids aged 2-11 and their caregivers. The event kicks off at 1:00 p.m. and lasts until 4:00 p.m. It will include free giveaways and educational activities.

Earth Day at the Chino Wetlands Park

The Chino Wetlands Park will be hosting their annual Earth Day event on April 19th. This free event features free activities, giveaways and educational booths for attendees. The Earth Day celebration will begin at 9:00 a.m. for school groups and 3:00 p.m. for the general public. The interpretive center will be open during the event as well.

Earth Day at the Frontier Project

This Earth Day event at the Frontier Center in Rancho Cucamonga will offer educational fun for the whole family including an environmental magician, a vermicomposting activity, recycle game and a Teen Green corner where students from local schools share their community projects. There's also a green business fair featuring groups from solar panel companies, a green fleet of vehicles, and water efficient technologies and much much more. Environmental Stewardship Day

Volunteers are wanted for the Environmental Stewardship Day! Join the Cucamonga Valley Water District and the Frontier Center at the North Etiwanda Preserve (NEP) on April 28th, 2012. The event will be taking place from 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Volunteers will be assisting with trash removal, weed abatement and trail restoration at the NEP. If you are interested in volunteering, please RSVP at www.frontierproject.org or call (909) 944-6022.

Iris Festival

The IERCD will have a booth at the Yucaipa Iris Festival, which is taking place May 18th -20th. The Festival is an annual family event, with an attendance of over 20,000 expected in 2012.
The 2011 Festival is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday May 20th, 21st & 22nd at the Yucaipa Community Park, located at 34900 Oak Glen Road Yucaipa, CA 92399.
