Local Native Plant Demonstration Spaces
Chino Wetlands Park
This park is located in Chino, California and features a history of the Chino Valley, the importance of water in our region’s economic development, and the importance of water conservation and wise water use. 
Visitors will realize the importance of protecting the area watershed. The site includes trails, ponds and wetlands, native, drought tolerant plants, and an overlook area.

Frontier Project
The Frontier Project is a 14,000 sq. ft. building that has received the prestigious LEED® Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Its purpose is to educate resident consumers, commercial builders, and sustainable advocates regarding the latest methods and technologies in water, energy, and site conservation. They hope to influence the area and as a result improve the living and working environment of Southern California. The building is available to the public as well as tours. Also, seminars and workshops take place.

Maloof Gardens
The Beverly garden on the Maloof Foundation site is dedicated to demonstrating the practical ways that a garden can reflect the native California plants.

The garden aims to show that a garden can be planned in harmony with the climate and limited water supply and in a variety of different styles. They hope to inspire the visitors to implement some combination of these principles in their own homes. There are 8 distinct zones within the garden, all representing different kind of planting styles or habitats. Volunteers for the property are welcome and numerous workshops are held on site.

Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Gardens
The Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Gardens is the largest botanical garden dedicated to California native plants.

The garden encompasses 86 acres of land and houses over 2,000 taxa of California plants. There are several different areas within the garden that guide you through different regions. Tours are available and frequent public workshops as well.

San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation Garden
The San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation Garden is located on the campus of Cal State San Bernardino and offers a wonderful place to learn about water conservation and the use of native plants in our landscape.
The San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation Demonstration Garden is just over an acre of plantings and displays that showcase water conservation through a series of beautiful themed gardens and exhibits.

Local Native Plant Nurseries
Cal-Nev Plants
Cal-Nev plants is located in Menifee, CA and aims to increase California’s native stock and raise community awareness of how the well-being of our community is dependent on the role of native plants.

They also have a pesticide and fungicide free facility. Their website includes extensive plant lists and pictures.

Grow Native Nurseries at the Santa Ana Botanical Gardens
Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden (RSABG) is located in Claremont, CA and is a multi-purpose organization.

It features an extensive botanical garden completely dedicated to California native plants, educational programs and seminars, seed conservancy, and a nursery called Grow Native.  The nursery houses a large selection of native plants and often offers special sales. Their proceeds go directly to the botanical garden programs.

Las Pilitis Nurseries
Las Pilitas Nursery is located in Escondido, CA and specializes in California native plants, and also native plants of San Diego County.

They have a farm nursery with some demonstration plantings. Las Pilitas will also do native plant landscaping design referrals.

Misty Meadows Nurseries
Misty Meadows is a new nursery located in Banning, CA.

The nursery is mostly concerned with the growing water consumption and constant drought like conditions. They have many drought tolerant plants and are open to requests from the public.

Mockingbird Nurseries
Mockingbird Nursery is located in Riverside, CA and dedicates itself to a creating a sustainable California for the future. 

They grow all their native plants organically, without chemical use. Although they do larger projects, they keep a strong focus on helping local homeowners plan and develop native and drought-tolerant landscaping plans.

Native Grow Nursery is a mostly wholesale nursery with a multitude of services. 

They are located in San Juan Capistrano, CA and their growing fields are located in Brea, CA. Native Grow Nursery has experts with backgrounds in environmental guidelines and public works projects. Their contract growing services are flexible and available through appointments.

Tree of Life Nurseries
Tree of Life Nursery is located in San Juan Capistrano, CA and has been propagating native plants for over 30 years.

They have an extensive range of over 500 species and plants. Tree of Life Nursery is committed to the concept of horticulture that is appropriate for Southern California. Natives are available through their Casa ‘La Paz’ Plant and Book Store. In addition, there are free weekly workshops held on site on topics ranging from design to replacement of lawns.

Wild California™ is a wholesale nursery offering a diverse palette of California native plants and seeds for public and residential landscaping, the nursery trade as well as for habitat restoration and ecological rehabilitation projects. 

Local seeds are available in affordable small packets for home use as well as in-bulk quantities for larger projects. They also offer contract growing for larger projects and ecological restoration and mitigation. Wild California specializes in growing local genetic species using source-identified native seeds from the area.
